SINGLE ROAD ENTRY TO JAKIMIRYA

You can come to Jakimirya either from Salvi Stop - Miryabunder Road or through the Ratnagiri City via S. T. Stand. From whereever you travel, you come to a place known as White Sea . This is the place where four roads meet. This is the entry point to all Mirya area. From here one of the roads straightly go to Miryabundar. Jakimirya is in a mid-way. This is the single road entry to our village. On both the sides of this signle road you see the sea water . This is the end part of the Nagpur-Mirya National Highway running through Mirya village. You have no any other way to come to Mirya. All the parts of Mirya are along this only one road. From the white sea point, first comes Bhatimirya, then Jakimirya , Anandnagar, then Sadamirya and at last Miryabundar comes. Jakimirya is the central part of Mirya Village. Sadamirya is on the hill top . All the other parts are at the sea level, only few feet away from the sea .

Women's empowerment in Jakimirya The last few years the governments are encouraging the women self help groups in India to the betterment of their living. Living can be made good by the help of saving. Saving is very essential in life . Women play a dominant part in running the houses. Considering this point, the mahila bachat Gat or the women's saving self help groups came into existence under Umed in Maharashtra. Jakimirya is a small vilage in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra State. It was very very difficult to gather the local people, inform them about the Umed organisation and the different self help groups established under Umed, as the women who came to inform were new to this area and even they were looked upon suspiciously. But, they were fully determined and hats off to them , they have created 10 such groups of women in Jakimirya, which are fully working for last four years and entered into the fifth year on their own now . Beautiful nature of Jakimirya

Lovely Jakimirya Jakimirya is a central part of Mirya village. Jakimirya's beautiful nature has always impressed me. The sea around its three sides, the lovely sea shore, the fishing boats, the one and only one entry road running through & getting divided into three sub roads from Alawa, the lovely half-turn in Alawa, the coconut trees, the mango trees & many more trees in a jungle area, the Navalai-Pavanai, Hanuman, Dattatray, Ganesh temples, the lovely houses, primary school, the Mirya Bandhara (wall protecting from sea encroachment), the Mirya Society Building, the Gram panchayat building, then the fisheries project, the mirya creek creeping into Jakimirya and running towards Zadgaon, the water pump supplying the water to Jakimirya and above all the lovely people of Jakimirya and many more attractions are here. Let us see one by one .

DIWALI TIME JAKIMIRYA !

Hello friends , this is Diwali time here ! Lovely atmosphere ! As you know , Diwali is one of the biggest festival here ! Everybody is in the lightening mood in Jakimirya . Its a great happening . Annual festival ! Lot of purchases are being made . People exchanging sweet etables called as faral and also exchanging presents to each other too ! This diwali mood will remain at least for 15 days ahead . Of course, you will see some lovely photographs and videos here on my blog Wonderland Jakimirya .
