You can come to Jakimirya either from Salvi Stop - Miryabunder Road or through the Ratnagiri City via S. T. Stand. From whereever you travel, you come to a place known as White Sea . This is the place where four roads meet. This is the entry point to all Mirya area. From here one of the roads straightly go to Miryabundar. Jakimirya is in a mid-way. This is the single road entry to our village. On both the sides of this signle road you see the sea water .
This is the end part of the Nagpur-Mirya National Highway running through Mirya village. You have no any other way to come to Mirya. All the parts of Mirya are along this only one road. From the white sea point, first comes Bhatimirya, then Jakimirya , Anandnagar, then Sadamirya and at last Miryabundar comes. Jakimirya is the central part of Mirya Village. Sadamirya is on the hill top . All the other parts are at the sea level, only few feet away from the sea .
The single entry road runs adding a beauty to the local nature. The Arebic Sea is on its one side and on the other side the Mirya Creek is placed. As you travel further the beautiful coconut trees and the other trees fall behind putting a nice picture. On both the sides you see the lovely houses of the local people.
The road runs smoothly. It is almost a straight road, except two three small turns. One of the turns is at Alawa . It is a nice half circle turn
( The U Turn).
The half circle shape of this turn looks beautiful. Alawa is a main part of Jakimirya. A central place. You can see the Navalai-Pavanai Temple and my house from this point. In Alawa, the single road gets divided for the first time. Here, one approach road goes to Talekar & Shivalkar wadi, parts of Jakimirya. The single road goes ahed of Alawa par, curving itself. Meanwhile at the end of the half circle turn, another approach road emerges and goes to Anandnagar and Sadamirya , a hilly area.
After the half circle turn, the road straightens a bit and goes ahead towards Miryabunder. At Eloushi this single entry road gets divided once again . From here another approach road goes to Sadamirya and Anandnagar. You can go to Sadamirya and Anandnagar from two ways. From Eloushi the single entry road takes another beautiful half circle turn and finally goes to Miryabunder, where Bharti Shipyard, a ship building company is established for many years. Here, the single entry road (a Nagpur-Mirya national highway) to Mirya ends. You can see lovely sea view from here. A little update of the above photo is here :
A city bus also comes and goes through Jakimirya, named Aanandnagar. Aanandnagar is a hilly area and it is just after Jakimirya. One of the bus stop is just in front of the Navalai Pavnai Temple, Jakimirya. Here are videos of Ratnagiri - Anandnagar bus going via Jakimirya
