The people of Jakimirya are really fantastic people. They are many varieties in their nature , looks , behaviour , education , working and so on. As this lovely village has surrounded by sea water in three directions , there are many fishermen in this village . Fishing is their main activity and quite naturally a profession too ! But, there are different class people too doing other professions . The population here is somewhat mixed . There are few illiterate people and also many people are very highly educated . There are drunk cards as well as sober people too . Few drink very heavily , few drink but other people know very little about it or don't know at all ! Few drink little and show more ! Beside this there are Keer , Shivalkar , Shirdhankar , Mayekar , Hatiskar , Pednekar , Tandel , Nagvekar , Pandaye , Choughule , Upalekar , kulaye, Kharde, Dhulap , Chavan, Desai, Bhole and so on . They all have very interesting origin . Few have came from Ghatmatha i.e. from Satara , kolhapur to Pune region . Few families came from Goa & Karnataka . It is said that the Sawant families came from Karnataka, Hatiskar, keer , Borkar, Shivalkar, Shirdhankar etc. came from Goa. Patil families came from Ghatmatha I. e. from Satara .
