Jakimirya is my home land. It is actually one of the parts of village named Mirya. Mirya village has a connection with one of the stories in Ramayana. It is a story of Hanumanji bringing Dronagiri parvat for the Sanjeevani.
Surrounded by sea water by its three sides ...
Its a beautiful place to visit. Surrounded by sea water by its three sides and and a single entry road running in between from the Ratnagiri city end. The coconut , mango and other trees give a great look . The mango trees give special mangoes called #Hapus mangoes. #Konkan_Hapus is a world famous mango. The sea level, the mid hill and the hill top areas are the three parts and are lovely sites to enjoy. Watching the sea from the hill top is a memorable experience ! Very lovely clean air flows here , which is very good for the health. This is one of the reasons that the people here are very strong . There are fishermen, servicemen and the students in this village . Fish selling is mostly done by the women in this village. Now the students are learning the latest technology. The Village Panchayat is in action giving more strength to the village . The village is changing with the new technology coming these days . Myself is sitting and posting from my home in Jakimirya . I really like and love this village .
How to reach this wonderland ?
You can come to Jakimirya from two nearby places. One is Mumbai and the other is Goa. Actually, Jakimirya is 12 km away from a place known as Hatkhamba on the Mumbai Goa highway ! You can travel by three types of vehicles. There are trains running from Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, Mumbai to Goa and the South India. There are State Transport's buses and also there are private agencies' transport buses too ! The Mumbai Goa highway has a continuous day and night traffic . You can reach Jakimirya from Nagpur-kolhapur-Mirya national highway. Yes, the last part of this national highway runs through Jakimirya ! Kolhapur is only three to four hours away from Jakimirya. Anywhere you may go in this area, you will see beautiful nature around ! The roads, the sea shores, the forest and the people ! Its beauty grows in rainy season.
